Počet lidí, kteří kopou ve dvou dresech, tedy v dresu Applu a Microsoftu, je stále víc. Jedněm chybí programy, které u Applu nenajdou, jiným naopak nepřívětivost a nabubřelost Windows. A právě pro ně je určen program Parallels, který se již dočkal dvacáté verze. Původně německá firma dnes patří do stáje kanadského Corelu.

Samotná myšlenka je jednoduchá – po instalaci na Mac si na počítač můžeme nainstalovat i Windows a pouhým přepínáním získáme přístup k oběma světům. Samotný počítač potom může (nebo taky nemusí podle toho, jak si nastavíme) získat přístup k souborům konkurenčního operačního systému.

Program existuje v několika verzích, Standard, Pro a Business. Většina lidí pravděpodobně sáhne po nejlevnější verzi Standard, a to buď v trvalé verzi, nebo s ročním předplatným. Rozdíl je zhruba 30 dolarů, ovšem platit budeme každý rok. Doživotní verze ale nemá upgrade, takže je klidně možné, že po nějakých úpravách OS Applu už nemusí fungovat.

Dražší verze existují pouze jako verze roční. Musíme si ale pamatovat, že verze Standard podporuje pouze 8 GB RAM a 4 virtuální CPU, zatímco verze Pro podporuje až 128 GB RAM a 32 CPU, takže pokud chceme dělat nějakou seriózní grafiku, dražší verze Parallels je nezbytností.

Instalace není nikterak složitá

Samotná instalace je jednoduchá a ani přechod z jedné verze na druhou není nikterak obtížný. Pokud nemáme vlastní Windows, Parallels nám po instalaci nabídne stažení přímo od Microsoftu a provede nás celou instalací, včetně konfigurace přihlášení k Microsoft účtu. 

Jediným problémem může být to, že ve chvíli, kdy nám doběhne roční licence, máme na zakoupení nové poměrně velmi málo času, takže pokud budeme třeba na dovolené bez počítače, můžeme být po návratu domů nepříjemně překvapeni. Do Windows se nedostaneme a instalace nových Parallels je obtížná, protože se nemůžeme zbavit vyskakovacího okna s informací o tom, že licence vypršela. Naštěstí má Parallels kvalitně fungující onlinový helpdesk, který s případným problémem pomůže.

No a potom už všechno jede pohodlně. Spustíme Mac a buď jedeme po jedné koleji, nebo si po spuštění spustíme přes Parallels i Windows a jedeme dvoukolejně. Nesmíme ale zapomenout na to, že Parallels jsou vlastně virtualizační software, takže všechno, co je na straně Windows, je vlastně virtuální a pokud Parallels vymažeme, tak všechno, co bylo na straně Windows, zmizí společně s ním.

Program je v nové verzi naplněn i AI ve formě Parallels AI Package, ale jedná se zejména o nástroje pro vývojáře. Pokud chceme na jablíčku oba světy, lepší alternativu na dnešním trhu nenajdeme.

Software Parallels pro Mac můžete zakoupit ve všech výše zmíněných verzích a akademické verzi například na e-shopu SW.cz.
